What a brokerage statement looks like

Brokerage statements pack a lot in, but the part most people want in a spreadsheet — the activity section, with trades, dividends, and transfers — is a dated transaction table that converts cleanly to CSV.

LayoutAn Activity/Transactions section lists trades, dividends, interest, and deposits/withdrawals by date, description, and amount.
HoldingsStatements also include a Holdings table (positions, quantity, value); those rows come through too.
ColumnsDebits and credits are split cleanly; symbols and descriptions stay in their own columns.
Date formatMM/DD or MM/DD/YYYY, by trade or settlement date.

Works with: Works with text-based statements from Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, Robinhood, and other brokers.

A brokerage statement has several sections. The activity/transactions table converts most cleanly; holdings and summary tables also come through as rows, so you may want to trim to the section you need after export.
