Privacy Policy
The short version
- ✓ The statement you convert is processed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored — there is no server that receives it.
- ✓ There are no accounts and no sign-up to use the converter.
- ✓ We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use third-party analytics to track you.
This summary is for convenience only. The full policy below governs.
01 Who we are & scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Bank Statement Converter (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with our website and the in-browser statement converter (the “Service”). It covers what happens when you visit the site and when you use the converter.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
02 Information we collect
The statement you convert
When you convert a file, the statement is read and processed locally on your device, inside your browser. Its contents are never sent to us or to anyone else. We do not receive, see, or store the file or the data inside it. See Section 3 for details.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, when your browser requests our pages, our hosting provider processes basic technical data needed to deliver the site and keep it secure — such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. This is standard server request data and is not linked to the contents of any statement (which we never receive).
What we don’t collect
- No account information — there is no sign-up, email, or password.
- No payment information — the converter is free and takes no payments.
- No contents of your statements — they never leave your browser.
03 How your statement is handled
This is the core of how the Service works and the reason it exists.
- In-browser only. Your file is read and converted by code running in your own browser. The conversion does not involve a server.
- Never uploaded. The file and its extracted contents are never transmitted to us or to any third party. There is no upload step.
- Nothing stored. Nothing about your statement is saved. When you close or reload the tab, the data is gone.
- No third-party processing. Your statement’s contents are not sent to any external service, AI provider, or analytics tool.
- Enforced by design. The site sets a strict content-security policy intended to prevent the page from transmitting your file anywhere.
In short: because conversion happens on your device, there is no server that ever receives your statement — so there is nothing for us to store, share, or lose.
04 How we use information
We use the limited automatically-collected technical data only to:
- Operate, deliver, and maintain the website.
- Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
- Understand aggregate, non-identifying traffic levels (for example, how many people visited).
We do not use the contents of your statements for anything — because we never receive them.
06 Data retention
- Your statements: not retained — we never receive them.
- Technical request logs: retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operational purposes.
07 Data security
The most important security measure is architectural: your statement never leaves your device, so it cannot be intercepted or breached in transit or at rest on our side. The website itself is served over HTTPS, and we apply a strict content-security policy. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of the technical data our hosting provider processes.
08 Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” Because the converter collects no account data and never receives your statements, we typically hold little to no personal information about you beyond standard technical logs.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, or the EEA/UK (GDPR), and you would like to exercise a right, contact us at privacy@YOURDOMAIN.com. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under applicable law.
10 Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
